2012 Raksha Bandhan Significance Festival Celebration In India

Raksha Bandhan Festivals will be celebrated on August 2nd Thursday. Rakhi, also known as Rakhsha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the unconditional love and sacred bond shared by brothers and sisters. The practice of presenting gifts on Rakhi is an important aspect of the festival. Indian mythology and history are full of instances related to the celebration and significance of the tradition of Rakhi peace and brotherhood. On this day, the sister ties a colourful Rakhi around her brother’s wrist and prays for his long life and prosperity after performing the traditional aarti.
